Citizens Kids exists to glorify Jesus, make disciples, and advance the kingdom—and we believe kids are a vital part of that mission.
There is no junior Holy Spirit! Kids can know Jesus, hear His voice, pray with authority, worship fearlessly, know the Word of God, and participate in the kingdom of God right now. We don’t believe Citizens Kids is childcare while the adults have “real church,” and we don’t believe kids are peripheral. Kids are the church!
We take the truth of Scripture seriously and bring it to kids in ways they can understand, while never underestimating what God can do in and through them. We partner with parents to disciple their kids, helping them build a real relationship with Jesus and grow in confidence about who He is, who they are, and what He has called them to do.
Kathryn Gardner
Kathryn is wife to Nick and mom to Josiah and Daniel, so she spends most of her days surrounded by little people and genuinely loves it.
She has a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, a master’s in Educational Leadership, with 10 years of experience as a classroom teacher and administrator, and has served in the kids ministries of the churches she’s been a part of for over 15 years.
Kathryn believes kids are capable of far more than we often give them credit for and there is so much we can learn from them about how to follow Jesus! She is passionate about teaching children the truth of Scripture, giving them a real foundation in Jesus, and calling out the gifts and purposes God has already placed in them.
